Description
Woman's dress in white muslin woven with a geometric design in white cotton (Brown, Sharp & Co. pattern no. 1416 6/4). Wide, rectangular neckline with fall front bodice decorated with inset narrow panels of white work leaf sprigs worked in chain stitch on a loose mesh ground, fastened either side by a Dorset button, opening to reveal overlapping cotton front flaps. Back with decorative lacing centre- back. Full-length sleeves cut on the cross with extended tapering wrists. Full-length skirt with slight train, attached flat with apron front with ties, fullness in deep inverted box pleats centre back.
